The end of October 2015 seems a long time, but when you can't sail during the winter months, it drags.
Progress is been made for June 2016, the trip to Holland.
Thanks to friends of a very cold friend who sadly lost his life in September. Rick (god bless him) had a heart of gold, when he took you under his wing.
One of his last requests was that all donations from his funeral came to me to give me the opportunity to follow my dreams again and take part in the Hansa World Sailing Championships this year.
A staggering £850 was raised from this.
Then a couple more of my friends has come forward and donated another £300 since.
I have now booked everything for the trip, just got to pay for the accommodation upon arrival.
My sister has kindly bought me a new set of sails, which are on order, at £500 a set, which isn't a drop in the ocean for me so all these donations are very much appreciated.
Also I've a friend who works within the complex I live at, chasing up a couple of leads, in hope to get a bit of sponsor.
Meanwhile, I have joined the gym, which I try to attend weekly. Hopefully this will build my core muscles and improve my stamina for the worlds.
Then ongoing modifications to my system that enables me to control the sails have been taking place. Hopefully these will stop a few snags which I found last year.
Any possible sponsorship ideas you may have would be gratefully received.
A belated, happy new year to you all.
Chris
