After the brake wire disconnected itself after the 6th race in Holland and burnt the mainsheet motor out and caused a bald spot on the pulley, I have not been able to sail.
After much work and hassle, we found a replacement motor and fitted the pulley back on.
Unfortunately, today we had hoped to get back on the water but firstly, the replacement sheet was a bit thick. This should had been 4mm or 5mm to run smoothly through the bullseye.
And the while testing this on shore, the replacement spindle that we welded on to the existing spindle on the motor, sheered. Luckily, I wasn't out on the water.
Hopefully, I can get a new spindle machined, and get some thinner sheets.
And hopefully be out on Wednesday for the start of the menagerie series at Swarkestone.
